New Windows: They Saved My Bank Account

I have to admit that I am very frugal, but I have to be with my large family. When heating and air-conditioning bills were just becoming too much to bear, I finally caved in and bought new windows that I was told were more energy-efficient. They weren't as expensive as I thought they would be, which was great news. I had them installed just before winter began, and I received the lowest heating bill for the month of November that I had received in years! I was so happy that I had those windows installed, especially after being so hesitant to spend the cash on them. I created this blog to help other frugal people like me realize that sometimes spending money on home improvements really does pay off in the long run! I am now looking into new home insulation to save even more cash!

Battling Cancer? 3 Reasons You Need A Reverse Osmosis Filter For Your Home

by Michelle Davidson

Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be frightening. When you discover that you are battling cancer, the foods and liquids you put into your body must be monitored carefully to ensure that they aren't detrimental to your treatments.

Water plays an essential role in helping the body overcome any illness, but your home's drinking water could be contributing to the spreading of your cancer. Here are three reasons why a reverse osmosis filter can benefit you as you battle cancer in the future.

1. Reverse osmosis filtration can preserve vitamin E.

Medical professional believe that many forms of cancer are caused by a buildup of free radicals within the body. Vitamin E (which can be found wheat germ, grains, nuts, and beans) acts as a powerful antioxidant that helps your body fight these cancer-causing free radicals.

Unfortunately, the chlorine that is used to treat municipal drinking water supplies can compromise vitamin E levels within your body. Installing a reverse osmosis filtration system to remove chlorine from your home's drinking water will help you more effectively battle cancer with the help of vitamin E in the future.

2. Reverse osmosis filtration helps you maintain a healthy gut.

The connection between the healthy strains of bacteria (commonly referred to as your microbiome) found in your intestinal tract and a strong immune system that has the ability to battle and prevent cancer are clear.

The same chlorine that is used to rid municipal drinking water stores of harmful microorganisms can also kill off healthy bacteria in your gut, compromising your microbiome. This could trigger system failures at a cellular level throughout your body, making it more difficult for you to battle your cancer.

Filtering out chlorine through reverse osmosis will help you maintain a healthy gut, which correlates to a healthier immune system with the ability to battle cancer.

3. Reverse osmosis can reduce the number of free radicals in your body.

Eliminating exposure to new free radicals can be important when you are battling cancer. Studies show that the chlorine added to municipal drinking water supplies interact with compounds that occur naturally in the body to form Trihalomethanes. These Trihalomethanes are free radicals that can damage the cells of the body and are highly carcinogenic.

By removing chlorine (and the subsequent Trihalomethanes free radicals produced after ingestion) from your home's drinking water supply, you can better control your body's exposure to free radicals as you battle your cancer diagnosis.

Let your home's drinking water act as an aid when it comes to fighting cancer by installing a reverse osmosis filtration system to remove excess chlorine. For more information, contact Anderson Water Systems or a similar company.
